The morning for the NAC opened in wonderful sunshine… a bit too wonderful for shooting, bringing the usual issues of harsh shadows and glowing faded green of the surface. Great news from the previous evening meant that after all it was possible to get some quick breakfast before driving to the competition with the early bird team members. Small and medium teams fought back from the fourth places from the jumping course, and the clear runs lifted the squads to silver and bronze, respectively. The first day of competition in Nordic Championships was longer than scheduled, and in the afternoon the schedule was around 45 minutes late. This of course is nothing spectacular. Otherwise the practical organization seemed to work well, and the results were published right away for everybody’s interest. The first full day at the Nordic Championships is pretty much behind. Since a significant part of the photography work with any sports always awaits after the shoot, the place for the time outside the competition has a huge impact on the chances to work properly. I don’t have any clue how the hotel ranks among other alternatives in the location, but at least the room is quiet with proper sound insulation, there’s a desk to work on, the internet has been invented, and the breakfast is ample (with actually the time to have some). And here we go again. A week and a half after returning from the European Open, it’s time to pack all the gear and head to the Nordic Agility Championships, held this year in Norway near the 1994 winter olympic scenes of Lillehammer. Work from EO is still much in progress, and one delivery of photos was finished just minutes before heading off to the airport.
